The Google Cybersecurity Career Certificate teaches learners how to identify common cybersecurity risks, threats, and vulnerabilities, as well as the techniques to mitigate them.
The certificate provides built-in, hands-on practice with skills and platforms like:

Eligibility criteria
This certificate program is for anyone who wants to enter the field of cybersecurity; no prior experience or specific knowledge is required! All you need is an interest in solving puzzles and helping others.
At Canada Learning Code, we believe that digital skills are tools of empowerment. With this in mind, we welcome applications from adults of all genders but design our spaces and experiences to ensure women and beyond the gender binary learners are explicitly welcomed into our learning community.
We also encourage and prioritize applications from learners who have been historically underrepresented in tech, particularly Black, Indigenous and other Racialized learners, people in low-income communities and newcomer learners.
Applicants must be 17+ years of age and reside in Canada.
Certificate details
This fully online program provides the skills you need for an entry-level job in cybersecurity, even if you don’t have prior experience. You’ll use industry-standard tools like Python, Linux, SQL, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
The Google Cybersecurity Certificate will also help to prepare you for the CompTIA Security+ exam, which is the industry-leading certification for cybersecurity roles. You’ll earn a dual credential when you complete both.

- You can commit to at least six hours per week of learning

Need more time to work through complex concepts or the option to move quickly through familiar ones? The at-your-own-pace nature of the asynchronous program is for you.

- You want to get started sooner rather than later: applications are considered on a monthly basis

This scholarship is open to residents of Canada who are aged 17 and older.
We are proud to facilitate access to this certificate program through two separate learning streams. At an average of 6 hours per week, most learners complete the asynchronous course within 6 months. Similarly, the cohort program is designed to take place over 6 months in order to facilitate support and peer to peer connection between participants.
